Greetings log home enthusiast.
We are a Canadian based company located near the Rocky Mountains of Cochrane, Alberta. Legacy has been building custom handcrafted log cabin homes since 2000. In 2017, we decided to offer to our client's the more affordable milled log construction. This will enable us to reach a broader range of client's. We have built many homes for both U.S. & Canadian client's. We are a custom builder. This means that you the client get the exact home or cabin that best suit's your life style, and at a price you can afford. For our handcrafted projects, we pre - build the log shell here in our log yard and then dis - assemble the shell and load it on a semi truck ready for shipping. We also provide re-assembly of the log shell at the client's site. For the milled log option, we ship the logs directly to your job site and build the log shell on your foundation and sub floor. - That a well built log home or cabin is one of the most energy efficient building's that you can build! Logs work on the principle of thermal mass. Logs absorb heat energy and store that heat and then slowly over time release that heat back into a home. A log home is also cool in the hot summer months. The outside part of the log absorbs the summer sun and then releases that heat back to the outside, keeping the inside of the home nice and cool.
